Jail Release Planning Team

The primary goal of the jail release planning team is to identify defendants, as early in the process as possible, that are in need of mental health or substance abuse services in the community treatment and diversion from jail to community resources.

RPT activities include:
  • Screening defendants in the county jail that may be eligible for release
  • Assessing social, clinical, and criminal history to evaluate public safety risks and determine client needs
  • Developing release plans notifying the courts of the client's status, providing recommendations for conditions of release, and proposing linkages to essential services provided by community-based organizations
  • Coordinating and collaborating with criminal justice personnel in order to facilitate a person's release from custody
  • Continuing case management services until the person is released from custody or discharged from the program
  • Providing services directly at the county jail and program offices

  • All Pretrial Contacts
